Size of Oliver: Last time we had a doctor's appointment, he weighed in at 15 ounces. He is probably close to 1.5 of 2 lbs by now. He should also be about 13-15 inches in length. This would make him the size of a head of Cauliflower or Napa Cabbage.
Weight Gain: I am staying healthy at about 1.5-2 lbs a week. I little on the fast side, but I have some ground to make up. I am at 7 lbs total weight gain.
Movement: Mostly when I am laying or lounging. I rarely feel him when I am up moving around. Dom's dad and brother both got to feel him on our Massachusetts weekend and I have started being able to see his movements through my clothes!
Pregnancy Symptoms: My poor back and ribs are killing me! All of the sitting that we did in the airport last weekend wrecked my muscles. I'm going to try a heating pad tonight. Poor Domenic has been so sweet with my endless request for back massages! The muscles directly below my ribs are also sore. I get some relief when I lay on my back, but I know I'm not suppose to do that for long periods of time. However, when I lay on my side, I wake up in pain throughout the night.
Any good ideas?
Sleep: I am still sleeping long hours, but now I am waking up about every 2 hours to readjust my back.
Craving: Grapes, Parfaits, Cheetos, and Ranch Dressing
Aversions: Not really anything specific anymore. I just will occasionally not find a certain dish appetizing. My friend Eric made Macaroni and Cheese and I couldn't even stomach one bite! Such a weird thing to suddenly find gross.
Workouts: These past 2 weeks have been pretty lack luster. I think I made it to the gym 3 times during week 23 and 2 times in week 24. I was so busy getting ready for the trip that I didn't have enough energy to make it. However, I do think that I burned about 300 calories grocery shopping, cleaning, ironing, and doing laundry for the trip! I finally got my yoga ball at home pumped up so I have been doing a few exercise at home when I can't make it to the gym.
Maternity Clothes: Nothing new to report. I am having fun coming up with new clothing combinations. There really aren't any pre-pregnancy clothes that I can't fit into at this point, so I am trying to venture outside of comfy sweaters and maternity garb!
Baby Items: We got tons of cute gifts from the baby shower that Dom's mom threw us!! These few things that I pulled out to show here don't even begin to scratch the surface of what we were given. I couldn't find everything online! We are so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.
Part of the baby shower's plan was to help us stock up Oliver's library, so we got tons of cute books inscribed by their gifters. We also got 2 handmade quits, some handmade bibs, and a homemade afghan! I wish I could use them to sleep with now!
We made one purchase ourselves with a left over wedding gift card that we had been saving up. Dom won't let me set it up and have the cat play under it... how cute would that be!
