As of this morning I am 31.2 weeks pregnant, 3 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced-in case you don't know what that means-it isn't great! I shouldn't be dilating and effacing (the thinning of the cervix) this early on. I asked the doctor to do a cervical exam at my appointment this morning because I felt a lot of pressure and wanted my mind put at ease that everything was nice and tight still but instead the opposite happened. I'm glad I trusted my gut and asked her to check otherwise we wouldn't have known. What does that mean-essentially I am on modified bed rest for as long as necessary to keep Clark nice and cooking as long as possible. I can walk around the house, shower, do small things outside but no shopping (boo), carrying laundry, going on walks and most importantly, trying my best not to pick up Oliver.
In the mean time, I need to start packing our hospital bag, getting baby clothes washed, and getting our "2 child" gear together. Speaking of gear for a second child, I just got our double stroller in the mail from Evenflo! I did a lot of research and debating between a double umbrella stroller or a full framed double travel system and ended up going with the Minno Twin Umbrella Stroller. I plan on baby wearing Clark throughout the fall and winter so I didn't see the need for a full framed stroller that carries an infant carseat. Instead, I'm planning for next summer! Clark will be around 7 months old, thus big enough for an umbrella stroller and I loved this more lightweight option.
Ollie and I tested it out in the neighborhood this week on a beautiful fall day and of course Mickey had to take "Clarky's" seat for the time being! I was planning to take it to the pumpkin patch with use in the next few weeks to carry Ollie in one seat and the pumpkin in the other but I don't know if I will be allowed to go or not. So, I am glad I at least got one good walk in with it even if it was my last one for a little while. Excited to share more pictures of this stroller with BOTH boys in it (still doesn't sound right to say that!!).
Until then, I'll be in bed so if you want to call or email or text, I'll be happy to have something to do!
