Happy 1st Birthday Ollie!! We celebrated today with a boxing themed birthday party filled with trucks, balls, and an unsuccessful cake smash. LOVED being sung Happy Birthday... HATED getting his hand dirty!
We had such a fun time! Thank you to everyone who came and blessed Ollie with your time, love, and sweet gifts.
This slide show has all of the party photos, but continue down for party and outfit details.
If you follow my life on Instagram, you may be aware that we Co-sleep with Oliver. More specifically, we Bed-Share. Bed-Sharing is a highly contested practice, one that many people disagree on. It involves- as it sounds- actually sleeping in the same bed with your child. For most of the worlds knowledgeable history, parent's have effectively co-slept and bed-shared with their infants for practical and economical reasons. It has only been since the mid-1900's that having a child sleep independently from birth has become the social norm. With the increasing number of SIDS related deaths many doctors and parents have become afraid of co-sleeping. However, there is prolific studies supporting the theory that co-sleeping is not only safe, but beneficial for the baby.
In this post I am going to share some of the benefits and dangers of bed-sharing, why we made the decision to do so, and ways to make co-sleeping safe and comfortable.
* I will use Co-Sleeping and Bed-Sharing interchangeably
