I am a 100% photography/camera newbie. I have been an iPhone only photographer since they were invented. I always wanted a nice camera, but I never wanted to dole out the cash for one. Now that we have an adorable little subject to photograph, Dom bought me a beginner camera and lens to start learning. We didn't get anything super expensive, because I want to start small and really learn how to use all of the features of the camera before I move on to a bigger lens/more complicated set up.
Here is what I am starting with.
Now that I have the equipment, I am spending all of Oliver's nap time reading about Shutter speed, Aperture, IOS, TV and AV settings, etc. It is a bit overwhelming! Mostly, I am just taking pictures galore and seeing what works that what doesn't. It is daunting to realize how much I have no idea what I am doing!
The #1 reason that I wanted a good/non iPhone camera is because of the absurd amount of wiggling that my primary subject does. I can't seem to capture a picture of him without at least one of his limbs being blurred. Here are a few pictures that I snapped up him while we were playing the other day. Notice how clear he is! I can't wait to play around some more and share my progress.
