About 3 months ago, Macy and I became members of Chewy.com. One of the great things about Chewy, is their online shop that allows pet parents to order food, treats, and medicine to be delivered directly to their door!
Every month, Macy gets a package with new treats, toys, or products to try out! Here are the items that we have tried so far and our opinions about each item.
Kong Cute Seas Toy-
Initial Opinion- Macy is going to destroy this thing in about 2 seconds.
Pros- It ended up being very durable. It was also easy to wash. Macy dragged it out into the mud one day, and after one toss in the washer it was good as new. No squeakier!
Cons- She was able to tear off a limb and pull out the cotton after a few months of playing with it.
Recommendation- KONG does it again! I love the one KONG toy that Macy has, and this one was nearly as durable as the solid rubber toys that they make. It took nearly 3 months for her to tear one of the limbs off. I stand by my love of KONG toys.
Merrick Organic Pot Pie Treats-
Initial Opinion: Looked well made and delicious.
Pros: Great ingredients and sturdy.
Cons: They were a bit TOO sturdy. Macy had to bite it in half and then eat each piece because the treat was so hard.
Recommendation: I would recommend these for big dogs. I think small dogs would have trouble bitting into these treats.
Primal Jerky Chicken Nibs-
Initial Opinion: Loved the packaging. I chose this product to review because it can be used for both dogs and cats.
Pros: Available to both cats and dogs which is unique. Well made with amazing ingredients.
Cons: The treats are REALLY small. Perfect for the cat. Macy needed about 5 of them to be a substantial treat.
Recommendation: If you have both dogs and cats this is a perfect treat. Small dogs are going to enjoy this treat more so then large dogs. However, Macy still loved these treats despite their small size.
Furminator Grooming Tool-
Initial Opinion: I couldn't wait to try this out! We were right in the middle of shedding season, and I was sweeping up hair left and right.
Pros: Macy had never been brushed before and fell in love immediately! The brush was successful in removing the hair on Macy that had already fallen out and was sitting on her coat.
Cons: The soft side of the brush would get clogged with Macy's hair. That is a good sign that it is working, but it is a bit of a pain to clean out.
Recommendation: Great brush for shedding dogs. I think she liked being brushed more than it was effective for removing her hair, but either way, we both have a good time with this.
Greenies Oral Care Treats-
Initial Opinion: I had heard about greenies, but I have never tried them.
Pros: Love loved these treats! All we had to say was "want a greenie" and Macy would come running!!
Cons: I wish the treats were harder for her to eat. She scarfed them right down. I wish she had had to work harder to break down the treat to work on her teeth.
Recommendation: I will definitely continue buying Greenies. They are my favorite treats that I have ever given to Macy!
