Discloser Statement: I received free products for review
for this post from menessentials.com, but all opinions of the products are my own.
Today I am going to take a break from talking about baby products and introduce you to some things for dad! My husband is always complaining that I don't talk about him enough, so this should give me about 2 weeks of peace. A few months ago I talked about his favorite razors from Harrys.com.
Now I want to share some other products that are a part of his daily routine.
Below I am going to talk about a cologne/perfume sample package, an alum block, and 2 shaving creams.
If you have never heard of an alum block, prepare to be wowed! The essential job of an alum block is to quickly close pores or work as a blood coagulant. The first time I came into contact with alum was after a nasty finger cut. I cut my index finger when I dropped a razor, and I could have sworn I was going to bleed out. My friend took his alum block and rubbed it over my finger. It burned like crazy but the bleeding stopped almost immediately.
When it comes to shaving, an alum block will help close up nicks brought about by a blade as well as work as an aftershave. You can also use it on your arm pits as a deodorant! It is both a practical and pleasurable purchase.
Domenic has the Shavex alum block for men. Beware, if you do a bad shave job and are covered in nicks, it will burn when you use the alum block. That means it is working to close up those open wounds! If you do a good, clean shave, it will leave your face feeling soft and smelling yummy- your wife will love it!
I have long since learned not to buy my husband large bottles of cologne. He usually gets sick of a scent before he has used the entire thing. If this sounds like your man, these cologne samplers by California North will be perfect for you! They are just large enough to give a few months of scent and even include one for women. I would definitely recommend these as a gift.
Dom is not very picky about the style of shaving cream that he uses. He normally uses cheap, canned shaving cream. These luxury creams were very different for him. First off, they smell FANTASTIC! Both of these LEA products are infused with sandalwood and oakmoss. They come in both a metallic tub and a squeezable 30's style tube.
They both go on REALLY thick. I would recommend this for a man that has a brush for applying shaving cream as well as a straight razor. If you are going to use these creams with a traditional blade, make sure it is a very sharp, high quality razor. A cheep razor with get clogged up because of the thickness of the cream.
The best part about all of these products, they can all be purchases at one central location. Check out menessential.com for all of your men's shaving needs.
