As a mom, I have approximately 4.6 minutes to get ready in the morning. Curlying my hair regularly just isn't and option for me. Plus, using a curling iron leave my hair dry and tangly- which I am not a fan of. When I found Savvy Curls on Instagram, I asked them if I could give their product a try with the hopes that I could share good results with ya'll.
I am am so happy to tell everyone that it works and it works well! Great curls without heating products. It takes 2 minutes to wrap your hair and can be worn overnight for easy curls the next day. This is definitely a product that I can stand behind.

This is the basic wrap. There is an additional piece that you can add to make it "compound". This would allow you to wrap the top half of your hair and the bottom half separately thus creating more body and curl, however, today I went with the simple style.
To get started, place the flat peice on the top of your head and pull down like a headband (keeping all the hair under the band).
Next, begin wrapping your hair around the band. You pull one piece around the band and then add more hair to the strand and continue wrapping until you reach the back of your head. Repeat on the other side. I noticed that bump when I looked at the pictures and fixed it!
Once all of the hair is tucked around the band, secure any loose pieces with Bobby pins and you are ready to go! Because I didn't wear the wrap overnight, they recommend leaving it in for at least 4 hours. I went grocery shopping and to the post office with it in! I definitely felt like I was repping the 1960's, but I don't think anyone could tell it was a curler.
And since I probably didn't explain the technique perfectly, here are some tutorial videos to help you visualize how easy it is to wrap: here and here
I have used this wrap three times now and have tried all recommended methods. Here are my tips for each method.
A. Overnight with dry hair:
The first time I tried the savvy curls band I slept in it. I applied mousse to dry hair and left it in for around 11 hours. I LOVED the results. Just make sure to really brush your hair after applying the mousse so it is smooth. Tangly hair won't curl as nicely. This was my favorite method.
B. 4 hours with dry hair:
Next I wrapped it in the morning with dry hair and some mousse. I left it in for 4 hours during the day. The curls were stil great but fell out before the end of the day unlike the overnight curls.
C. 4 hours with damp hair:
This was the method I tried for this photoshoot and post. I still like version A. best, but this worked well.
Here are my results. Now ideally I would have taken them right after removing the curler and in the same place as before, but let's me honest- toddlers don't care about our plans! These were taken 3 hours after removing and playing outside in the humidity so at least it gives you an idea of how they hold up.
