In honor of day 2 of Wimbledon round 1 and Tsonga's 5 set win over Melzer, I began my annual "I should have been a professional tennis player" phase. I want to follow that by saying I am not and never have been anything spectacular at tennis. In fact I kinda stunk for a long time! I am better now and I can beat D pretty handedly but sometimes we both look like this:
In college I coached kids tennis which I was actually really good at. I am good with kids and I could teach fundamentals and form really well. However, my tennis got really bad because 4 years of only playing tennis with 6 year olds will make anyone's tennis digress!
With that being said, Macy and I hoped in the car- which might have been Macy's favorite part- and headed down to the tennis courts at the old rec in town since I knew no one would be there to hit some balls! Macy loves tennis balls so I knew I could get her running out there.
For about 30 minutes I practiced my serve and Macy tried to collect every ball that I hit at her!
She made it for about 3 buckets of balls and then she took an out over in the shade!
We had a blast. Macy got good exercise, I got some good serving practice in, and I got to wear my new Nikes that D bought me!
Finally, Here are my favorite tennis players this year at Wimbledon and a great video of Djokovic and his friends in the locker room trying to be soccer players... stick to tennis boys.
