Apparently I was all about balls this weekend...
Here are two awesome recipes that are easy and oh so good.
Disclaimer: There is nothing healthy about any of this food. I actually eat pretty healthy but no one can tell from my blog posts! I need to get more creative with my salad and baked chicken.
1. Oreo Cream Cheese Balls
1 package of Oreos
2 8oz packages of cream cheese
1 1/2 cups of melted chocolate (I bought baking chips that I melted)
Crush Oreos in a bowl and mix both packages of cream cheese in with the Oreos.
I melted the cream cheese for about 1 minute a piece and mixed them using a blender for 2 minutes.
Of course I forgot to take pictures until Step 2!
freeze batter for 5 minutes to allow it to harden. When the batter is malleable, without being too sticky, roll the batter into bite sized balls.
Melt chocolate (for the best result, look for easy melting chocolate baking chips).
Roll balls into chocolate until coated.
Place chocolate coated ball into a tray, and place them back into the freezer.
Once chocolate is hard, remove and eat!
2. Pizza Balls
1 package of pre-made pizza dough
1 can of pizza or tomato paste
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
Optional: Pepperoni or other pizza toppings.
11 mini pizza balls
sprinkle flour on a flat surface
Roll out pizza dough in a large square (ish)
Brush some olive oil onto the dough
I forgot to take a picture of this step. On your square, put your pizza sauce, cheese, and any other toppings you would like.
Roll dough like you would a cinnamon roll until you have a long log.
Cut log into 1-2 inch thick slices. Place on a oiled cookie sheet.
Baking rolls at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until dough is golden brown.
Insert skewers into your balls if you would like to serve them as appetizers!
If you have any "ball" recipes please share them!
