We made it through our first Christmas as a married couple! This Christmas was the way I hope- and very highly doubt- every Christmas holiday could be- Peaceful, Easy, and Relaxing!
We decided not to go to either of our family's places for Christmas this year and just spend it with the two of us. Dom only got 4 days off for the holidays and we didn't want to spend those traveling. We are heading up to a cabin with my parents for the New Year, and we are planning to travel to Massachusetts to see Dom's family in the coming months. That left Dom and I to have our one and only Christmas with just the two of us.
We did take a mini vacation up to Myrtle Beach with some friends the week before Christmas, but other than that, we were serious homebodies.
Christmas Eve we went to service, opened our stockings, thought about making Christmas cookies, and watched Elf. I had a sad moment Christmas Eve when I realized that my Christmas coat couldn't button around my belly :(
On Christmas day, I woke up in my pajamas, spent all day in my pajamas, and fell asleep in my pajamas... heaven! We opened gifts, made pancakes, and took Macy on a walk (I walked in my pajamas but I disguised them so that no one could tell!). She was so hyper after all of her presents that we had to let her get some energy out! Christmas night, while we were in bed, she was still bringing us her toys to see if we would play with her!
Oliver made out pretty good this year. I don't even want to think about his Christmas presents when he is actually born!!
Even the cat and the dog veged out together...
All in all, it was the perfect way to spend our first Christmas together. As relaxing as it was, I am excited for crazy-family-filled Christmases to come.
I am 25 years old with a 2 year old son and a wicked handsome husband living in Birmingham, Alabama.
