Here are 5 practical anniversary gift categories for either a husband or wife that will help enhance your quality of life.
This was one of the categories that I hit for my husband this year. Anything that can help either wife or husband with their professional attire would be a great gift: a briefcase, custom tailored shirts, ties, a new dress for work, etc. They are fun gifts to recieve but also practically- especially for young couples that are trying to establish their professional wardrobe.
I got my husband this wood watch from Jord and it looks fantastic when he is dressed up. It just takes his work outfit up a notch and helps him feel more put together. They have tons of styles and colors, but I think the dark wood with the big open face makes the watch look perfect in a professional setting.
Jord made a discount link for my blog readers! If you go to THIS link, and enter your email, you will be sent a $20 store credit code. AND, one or the people that enters will be randomly selected for $75 store credit!
Both credits are good until 1/1/2-17
Always practical and helpful are some organization pieces. Our first Christmas I got my husband a tie rack, and this year for my birthday I got a storage bench for the front door and a mason jar storage piece (which I will be sharing soon) for the kitchen.
3. An Appliance
Instead of buying two separate gifts at Christmas or an Anniversary, why not buy one large thing together? A new washer and dryer, a new TV, or even something small like a crockpot. For Father's Day we got Dom a new TV because ours was so small you could barely tell what was happening on screen! This kind of gift is perfect if you have a list of things you need for your home and can knock something off during a holiday. My first birthday present from Dom when we were dating was a vacuum!
It is always fun to buy quality pieces of furniture as you build your home together. Use a time of gift giving as a chance to buy something that will enhance you home. We got a recliner for our living room for our anniversary this year, and it made us both so happy! Maybe for Christmas you can get a bedroom suite or a new couch.
5. Something To Enhance Your Work Quality
A new computer, a desk for a home office, or piece of equipment that would improve your quality of work is a fantastic present. Is your husband a traveling businessman? What about a nice suitcase. Is your wife a photographer? How about a new lens for her camera. For my birthday my husband and in-laws bought me lightroom for editing photos which was such a blessing when it comes to working with my photographs.
Remember, gifts like this may see like too large of a purchase for a birthday or anniversary, but try and find things that you will need to buy regardless. It is hard to let a holiday or celebration pass without buying a gift, so rather than spending money on candles, comics, or whatever you think your spouse might find fun, gift them something that they will find practically and en investment in your future.
