Apply in the morning and after baths. We tried Burts Bees, Johnson & Johnson, Aquaphor, Vaseline, Cetaphil, and Honest Company lotion and none of them worked as well at Wash With Water.
Favorite Humidifier: Crane Drop Humidifier
Let parts dry out whenever you leave the house, but other than that, run humidifier while home and throughout the night.
+ Limit soap and bubble bath: soaps and bubble baths can dry out your baby's skin if used too often. Oliver loves baths so we were doing bubble baths ever night and his dry skin was getting worse! As soon as we cut the bubbles down to once or twice a week, we saw huge improvement.
+ Apply lotion after bath, let baby play naked for 15-20 minutes and then reapply lotion. This way the first layer doesn't get absorbed into the pajamas.
+ On particularly difficult spots, add vaseline on top of lotion to seal in the moisture.
+ Let your humidifier follow your child throughout the house. If playing in the living room, move the humidifier in there.
+ Opt for soft and natural fabrics against your kid's skin. The softer the clothes the less likely that they will irritate your baby's skin. Burts Bess Baby makes great soft pajamas, Everlane shirts are made with silkiest materials (we are actually both wearing shirts from them in the video), and we still use Bambo Nature diapers because I love their natural fibers against Oliver's skin.
+ After baths, lightly pat dry and then let your kids air dry rather than rubbing the moisture off of their skin.
