Today is day one for students! My last student just left and I am glad to have a quiet room to myself. Even when I was a kid, I hated for the first day of school. It is SOO boring! You sat in class after class hearing the same thing about fire evacuation routes and dress code.
Being a teach is no different. The first day of school is still boring. I have 4 classes and I have to say the same thing in every one. Add on the fact that I don't know half of the kid's names and have to ask them a hundred times to "pronounce Q-andyshina again"... the day gets tiresome.
The other thing that is frustrating about day one is how confused everyone is. Kids are coming in 30 minutes late cause they had to change their schedules, the bells are all out of wack, and teachers don't know when to switch classes. Today the high school went to lunch before the middle school which messed me up to where I didn't have a lunch break! I can't wait for normal school to start next week and end this confusion.
I feel like I didn't do as much decorating to my room this year, but I definitely feel more organized. Here are some of the organization things that helped me out.
I hate it when my craft supplies are messy. I made 10 matching boxes with markers, colored pencils, scissors and glue in each one. They have to sign them out and make sure the same things are back inside. Hopefully this will help my things stay organized.
Here is to hoping that things stay neater for longer!!
